Miami Heat

ColourPop Miami Heat 9-Pan Pressed Powder Palette ($14.00 for 0.32 oz.) is a new, limited edition warm-toned color story featuring four metallic eyeshadows and five (mostly) matte eyeshadows. All nine shades performed well enough with a few shades being a little powdery and/or more buildable in coverage (but by no means sheer) and wore for around eight hours on me.

305

305 is a light, yellowy gold with moderate, warm undertones and a metallic sheen. The texture was soft, more loosely-pressed in the pan, and this resulted in a little bit more frost than metallic once applied on my lid. It had opaque pigmentation that wore well for eight hours before fading visibly.

$4.50/0.05 oz. – $90.00 Per Ounce

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.

The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

LELimited Edition. $4.50.

Big Three

Big Three is a very light and bright, yellowy orange with strong, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had opaque color coverage that adhered well to bare skin and blended out nicely along the edges. The texture was soft, somewhat powdery in the pan but not prone to sheering out during application. It lasted well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Magic City

Magic City is a rich, medium-dark gold with warmer undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. The texture was more loosely-pressed but the pigmentation was very intense, so using a lighter hand would be ideal to avoid fallout with this shade. It stayed on well for eight hours before fading a bit.

Vice Wave

Vice Wave is a rich, medium-dark orange with moderate, warm undertones and barely-there gold pearl over a matte finish. The pearl was finer and there wasn’t a lot of it, so it didn’t result in fallout during application. It had full color payoff in one layer, which applied well to bare skin and blended out with ease as the texture was smooth, velvety, and not too powdery. The eyeshadow showed signs of fading after eight hours of wear.

Kaboom

Kaboom is a medium-dark, red-copper with soft, warm undertones and a metallic finish. The eyeshadow had a smooth, lightly emollient texture that picked up readily with a dry brush and had good, even adhesion on bare skin. It had rich pigmentation that wore well for eight hours before showing signs of fading.

Bayside

Bayside is a rich, deep copper with strong, warm orange undertones and a metallic sheen. It had opaque color payoff in a single layer, which applied well to bare skin as the texture was smooth, lightly emollient but not overly so. It stayed on nicely for eight hours before fading visibly.

Heat Culture

Heat Culture is a deep red with moderate, warm undertones and a matte finish. The texture was slightly drier, somewhat dusty in the pan with light fallout during application but blended out without difficulty. It had mostly opaque, buildable pigmentation that lasted nicely for eight hours before fading a bit.

South Beach

South Beach is a soft black with cooler undertones and multi-colored, barely-there pearl over a matte finish. The consistency was slightly thinner and more firmly-pressed into the pan, so there was no powderiness, but it wasn’t as blendable as it could have been. It had opaque color payoff that wore well for eight hours before fading visibly.

The Decision

The Decision is a medium-dark brown with moderate, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had mostly opaque, buildable pigmentation with a soft, moderately powdery texture that had light fallout during application if I wasn’t careful. It stayed on well for eight hours before fading noticeably.
