Golden State Warriors

ColourPop Golden State Warriors 9-Pan Pressed Powder Palette ($14.00 for 0.32 oz.) is a new, limited edition palette that included four shimmery eyeshadows and five more matte eyeshadows in a mix of peach/orange and blue tones. The majority of the shades had semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation, while the textures were on the more powdery side–especially the matte shades–so there was some fallout to be concerned with, though it was manageable, in my experience.

Splash

Splash is a light orange with warmer, more yellow undertones and a matte finish. It had opaque color payoff paired with a soft, blendable consistency that was somewhat powdery but not too prone to sheering out. It wore well for seven and a half hours before fading noticeably.

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.

The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

LELimited Edition. $4.50.

415

415 is a light gold with warmer undertones and a frosted finish. The consistency was more powdery and a little chunkier, which resulted in a finish that wasn’t smooth or even in application. I had to use it with a dampened brush to smooth out the product, and it was hard to build up beyond semi-opaque coverage. It stayed on well for seven hours before fading visibly.

We Believe

We Believe is a brighter, medium orange with moderate, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had opaque color payoff paired with a smooth, more velvety texture that was substantial with light powderiness but minimal fallout when blended out. It lasted nicely for eight hours before fading a bit.

Lombard

Lombard is a rich, medium-dark gold with strong, warm orange undertones and a metallic finish. The eyeshadow felt more loosely-pressed in the palette, so there was some powderiness, but if I used a lighter-hand, it was controllable. It had opaque pigmentation that wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

The City

The City is a bright, sunshine yellow with moderate, warm undertones and a smooth sheen. It had opaque color coverage that adhered well to bare skin as the texture was smooth, lightly emollient but not too thick or too firmly-pressed into the pan. It stayed on well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Dubs

Dubs is a light, caramel brown with warmer, more orange-leaning undertones and a matte finish. It had opaque color coverage paired with a soft, blendable consistency that was somewhat powdery in the pan but not particularly prone to fallout during application. It lasted nicely for eight hours before fading a bit.

The Town

The Town is a medium-dark blue with moderate, cool undertones and a satin sheen. The eyeshadow had nearly opaque color coverage, but the texture was denser and thicker, which made it harder to pick up evenly with a brush. It took more effort to really even and spread out this shade on my lid. It wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

GSW

GSW is a bright, cornflower blue with strong, cool undertones and flecks of sparkle over a matte finish. Those sparkles just resulted in random fallout rather than translating as a textural element on the eye. It had a moderately powdery texture that made the full coverage prone to sheering out in practice, and there was some fallout when I blended out this shade. It stayed on well for seven and a half hours before fading visibly.

Bay Bridge

Bay Bridge is a brighter, dark blue with strong, cool undertones and a matte finish. The texture was a touch drier and more firmly-pressed into the pan than most of the brand’s matte eyeshadows are, but I think that helped ensure this was opaque, wasn’t prone to sheering out, while still being fairly easy to blend out. It lasted nicely for eight hours before fading a bit.
