The Mandalorian

ColourPop The Mandalorian 9-Pan Pressed Powder Palette ($14.00 for 0.32 oz.) is the brand’s newest Star Wars tie-in collaboration. The palette included five matte eyeshadows with four shimmery shades, and it ran slightly cooler-toned overall–relative to the plethora of very warm-toned palettes that exist. One of the matte shades–Nevarro Sand–was too powdery, while one shimmer–Beskar Steel–was a little drier to work with, but the eyeshadows were semi-opaque to opaque in coverage, blendable, and easy enough to use.

Beskar Steel

Beskar Steel is a pale silver with contrasting, pale gold shimmer that gave it more of a pewter-like hue with a more frosted finish. The texture felt slightly drier and more loosely-pressed in the pan, so there was light fallout during application. It had semi-opaque color payoff that stayed on nicely for seven and a half hours before fading a bit.

The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Nevarro Sand

Nevarro Sand is a bright, yellowy-orange with strong, warm undertones and a matte finish. The consistency was moderately powdery, so you’ll want to use a light hand to avoid fallout. It had opaque color payoff but was more prone to sheering out to semi-opaque coverage without a good primer underneath. This shade wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Clan of Two

Clan of Two is a rich, reddish-plum base with green-to-blue shifting pearl and a metallic sheen. The eyeshadow was intensely pigmented where a little went a very long way, likely due to the consistency being very smooth, lightly emollient but had great adhesion to bare skin with a dry brush. It wore well for eight hours before fading a bit.

This is the Way

This is the Way is a darker, grayish-taupe with muted, warm olive undertones and a matte finish. It had mostly opaque, buildable pigmentation paired with a thinner, slightly stiff texture that could have been more blendable and easier to pick up with a dry brush. It wore decently for seven and a half hours before fading visibly.

Creed

Creed is a deep brown with neutral-to-cool undertones and a matte finish. The texture was slightly powdery in the pan, so I’d use a lighter hand just to be sure of no fallout, but it had full color payoff that remained blendable on bare skin. It lasted well for eight and a half hours before fading a bit.
