An Emerald Away

ColourPop An Emerald Away Pressed Powder Shadow Quad ($9.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a new, emerald-inspired color story that included two shimmers and two matte shades housed in a clear, plastic compact. All four shades were pigmented, blendable, and longer-wearing, and bonus: three of the shades were more unique and harder to find (the lighter matte green especially hard to dupe!).

Facet-nation

Facet-nation is a very light, mintyg reen base with warmer, yellowy-gold shimmer and faint sparkle. The texture was more loosely-pressed, which resulted in light fallout during application with a dry brush, so you may want to apply it with a dampened brush or fingertip. It had opaque color payoff that wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Formula Overview

$4.50/0.05 oz. – $90.00 Per Ounce

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.

The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Ring True

Ring True has a warmer, reddish-brown base with green-gold duochrome shimmer that gave it a metallic finish. It was richly pigmented with a smooth, lightly creamy texture that wasn’t too firmly-pressed nor too thick, so it was easy to work with using a dry brush or a fingertip. It stayed on well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Chromium

Chromium is a light-medium, sage green with cooler undertones and a matte finish. The texture was slightly powdery, but it was a substantial, more velvety formula that had good adhesion to bare skin with minimal fallout during blending. It had full color payoff that lasted well for eight hours before fading a bit.

Jewel Box

Jewel Box is a deep blue-teal with cooler undertones and a matte finish. It had opaque color coverage in a single layer, which applied well to bare skin as it blended out without losing its intensity. The texture was silky-smooth and substantial without being overly powdery. It wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably.
