[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Honestly, I canít get carried away by the beauty SPF mafia Ė yes, we all know we need regular applications of SPF although I really question it on a grim November afternoon indoors where itís more night than day. Personally I am not hauling out the SPF in mid-winter and Iíll happily do a very early morning walk in summer with nothing on my skin at allÖ you do you but SPF isnít my religion Ė Iím vigilant but relaxed and I think that sums up the new Malin + Goetz SPF that has the best tag line Ė Ďorange is the new blockí. That makes me happy every time I read it!
As youíd expect from a modern SPF, itís very lightweight and was at home straight away on my complexion. In fact, thatís the striking thing about this texture and weight Ė the gel-cream feels like itís meant to be there. I donít like layering products Ė it never feels natural or particularly comfortable on my skin when its hot and the most I usually do when Iím not testing products is moisturiser before SPF but with this you can swap out your day moisturiser and use the Malin + Goetz SPF as a two-in-one. It doesnít leave skin shiny so itís suitable for anyone Ė I might even persuade Mr BBB to use it.
Itís a mineral formula which is my preference Ė the days of weighty block are so long gone Ė because theyíre immediately effective and simpler, somehow. Because it doesnít leave any residue or casting, I think itís probably suitable for deeper tones too but I havenít tested for that. A big question is whether it works well under make up Ė Iíve tried it under Chanel Water Fresh Tint, LíOreal Paris True Match and bareMinerals Complexion Rescue it and worked perfectly under all of them. The only caveat is Water Fresh which, when I rubbed my skin some time later, did come away a little but it was a proper rub in the name of testing and Iíd have been none the wiser if I hadnít done it. Itís a strong recommend from me especially if you donít like layering or the feel of multiple products on your complexion on a hot day Ė in fact, my ideal partner for this would be Tan Luxe (£36 HERE) so I could eliminate everything but the two products before applying any blush. Malin + Goetz SPF30 is £32 HERE. Iíve linked to SpaceNK in case you have points but Tan Luxe is £28 at Look Fantastic HERE.
