[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I last reviewed this product in 2009 and itís come to my attention once again. Iím not a big concealer user but have been looking for a product to wear under Charlotte Tilburyís new shade of Colour Chameleon, Pillow Talk. It slides off my lids as fast as I can put it on and that is so unusual because I can wear the other shades without this problem. In fact, theyíre some of my favourite eye colours.
The shade I have here is Bare Ė there are four to choose from but none for very deep tones as yet. I am sure they will be working on it. You really donít need very much of this Ė a tiny dot on your finger worked across your lids will be plenty. You can take this up to your brow bone if you just want an eye brightener but you probably need to be more tone specific where as if you use it as a primer to keep a hold of shadow the shade doesnít matter as much.
This is the subject of my problem! Itís a pretty metallic peachy pink that gives lids a flash of brightness and looks beautiful with brown eyeliner. Trish McEvoy Eye Base Essentials kept it in place for the whole day Ė Pillow did not move from my lid and neither did fade. There was still plenty to remove when I came to cleanse in the early evening. I used a balm cleanser that took it away no problem at all. I get a lot of queries about oily lids and it does seem that the antidote to that is the Eye Base based on my own experience. Itís quite pricy at £31 but once you have it, itís going to give you a lot of trouble free lids. This type of product can Ďshrinkí the skin as it dries, leaving lids looking more creased than they actually are but while it did happen a tiny bit, it wasnít anything notable and Iím sure what others will notice is your shadow not your skin. In fact, if you look at the swatches below, itís the colour exacerbating my skin rather than the base.
I love the easy and enlivening element of the Pillow Talk Colour Chameleon (HERE) and would highly recommend Eye Base. Itís one of Trishís core products and its very longevity speaks to its efficacy. Itís £31 at Liberty HERE.
